This year we threw a family surprise party for Daddy in which Madison and Aidan orchestrated the entire event! They wrapped presents, decorated, baked and decorated a cake. It was a lot of work and even more clean up but the fun they had and the pride they felt in doing something so special for Daddy was totally worth it all. Caleb slept through the preparations but awoke in time for singing and cake! We had a great time!

Daddy got a special balloon (Maddie's favorite color) on his chair to reserve it for the birthday boy :).
Let's make a cake! One of Daddy's favorite - yellow cake with chocolate pudding icing! Much of the batter and icing were eaten before it was even baked :).
Ta da! The white icing is a flower and the candles, although jumbled, say Happy Birthday.
